Matthew was an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and tailored the tour based on the group. We were very lucky that day and were even able to see a brown bear and black bear at the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation despite it being winter!! Was a wonderful tour - one of the highlights of my trip.

Matthew, our guide, was knowledgeable, helpful and made the trip with fun stops and great conversation. Our day included lots of snow which in itself made things beautiful, but was especially appreciated was Matthew’s concern for our safety both while driving and while walking with us. His knowledge of the area’s history, geography, geology, plant life, and wildlife were especially interesting for these two retired teachers. At we one stop, we ran into others who had travelled with him the day before and they asked if they could join with us and that was before we saw them freeing their van after it had gotten stuck. Great tour, great guide, feeling warm and safe - what more could we ask for. Thank you Matthew!

This was a great tour given the weather conditions. Winter is not a great time to view wildlife but if you do want to experience some breathtaking snow capped mountains and fresh powdered snow 5 feet thick, you will love this trip. Matthew was very friendly, gave us a ton of insight on Alaska and it’s culture and wildlife and stopped at some really good photo spots. Portage lake and Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center were good spots to visit and look around.
