À quoi s'attendre

Zion National Park
If you want to pick one spectacular park to visit, it’s tough to find anything better than Zion. This park can tend to get crowded, so we try to take off early if the group wants to hike the ever popular Angel’s Landing. Our goal will be to get there as early as possible to either hike Angel’s Landing (exposure and elevation) or the Emerald Pools loop (no exposure, less elevation). After a lunch and rest at the Zion Lodge, we will continue to work our way up the valley, culminating in a hike of The Narrows at the top of the valley. Should the Narrows not be open due to flooding or expected rain, the group has numerous options across the East and West portions of the park, including roads going through giant holes in the mountain and overlooks of Zion from above the canyon. Heading home, we can grab a quick bite to eat in St. George, any may even be treated to the Milky Way if there is no moon and no clouds between St. George and Las Vegas.
2
Angel's Landing
Guests will be able to select from two hikes to start the day, the first of which is Angel's Landing. This is NOT for the feint of heart, as it involves elevation, exposure, and hiking up a narrow rock ridge with a chainlink guide. However, for the adventurous, the payoff are 360 degree panoramic views of the entire canyon as it fills with the first light of the day.
3
Emerald Pools
If Angel's Landing seems like a bit much, Emerald Pools will be more your speed. Minimal elevation gain and no exposure allows us to travel along the canyon wall edge, eventually coming to the Emerald Pools. These pools show how the water flows from the canyons walls through smaller streams and into the Virgin River, which ultimately carved Zion canyon.
4
Zion National Park
After the morning hike, we will use the Zion bus transport to visit numerous sits through the canyon including Three Sisters, Weeping Rock, and numerous other easily accessible stops.
5
The Narrows
The world famous Narrows starts at the top of Zion canyon at the Temple of Sinawava. Here, the canyon narrows and hikers only option is to hike IN the Virgin River. Hikers can go for 10+ miles upstream and even camp on riverbeds. We will either do a deeper hike into the Narrows, or a shorter one if the group wants to hike to Observation Point for sunset.
6
Observation Point
While the group may want to take more time in the Narrows, those who want to fit in one more hike can visit Observation Point. We can either hike 2.5 miles and 2,500 feet up (5 miles roundtrip) or drive to the east side of the park and hike 3.5 miles (7 miles roundtrip) with minimal elevation gain. The payoff is a view from the very top and back of the canyon, with entire canyon in front of you as it fills with the last light of sunset. The group must be comfortable hiking back in the dark, using headlamps provided by ECA.

Why "Gun Show"? Take the hiking trail less traveled with Ryan if you need some adventure that'll stretch your comfort zone. From the early pickup(really early) in Vegas, to the comfortable ride (He's a good driver), to the friendly conversation on the long ride, to the excellent lunch provided, Ryan named his company right. Elite in quality, Custom because he'll let you pick your courage scale(I should have looked up the word "exposure" before I went). Adventure you'll get. I highly recommend you call Ryan if your are time poor like I was and want to make the most of a trip out west. So, why "Gun Show"? I like to take pictures and Ryan will make you a better photographer by putting you in great positions and pointing out ways to get the best shots. He bring professional equipment but i wasn't into getting my picture taken. He's flexible either way. I did let him do some and of course he asks you to pose a little and wanted the flex which I wouldn't do. Cue in 2 Jersey guys walking by during one of these sessions who start yelling "suns out guns out" "let's see the gun show". Still couldn't shame me into it but there you go. My new trail name in Zion is Gun Show. Book ECA now. Something this good will always fills up.

My trip to Zion with Ryan from Elite Custom Adventures was even better than I hoped it could be. When I first booked my trip, Ryan asked what I wanted to do during our time at the park and then planned the day to make sure Angel's Landing (my main goal for the park) was first on our itinerary. The rest of the day was also entirely planned out by him so I didn't have to worry about making any plans. He also kept an eye on the weather a few days before we left and kept me updated on if any of our plans needed to change. Transportation, food, snacks, and of course pictures were all taken care of too. Ryan was taking pictures the whole day, some posed, some candid, and a lot of great photos came out of the trip. I am an amateur photographer, and since I brought my camera with me I received a lot of tips and advice on how to get better photos of the dark sky and landscapes. I wanted a very adventurous day in the park and Ryan made that happen. However, he also explained to me ways that the same trip could have been modified if I had changed my mind on my adventure level while we were there or if a guest had explained up front that they were just interested in seeing the park but not doing anything too strenuous. I think Elite Custom Adventures is able to offer something for anyone interested in the National Parks and a trip with this company is worth every penny of the price.

Thank you for the kind words. It was an incredible trip, and you did a great job both on the hikes and the photography. Great eye finding the Mexican Spotted Owl, and I really admire the adventurousness that you showed throughout. Hope the pictures bring back great memories and that you keep exploring whenever you get the chance!
