This is a YES, YES, YES must-do trip in Durango. Call to make that reservation and talk to Molly! She answered all questions in detail and exudes passion for everything adventure. We booked our trip for myself, my husband and our 14-yr-old daughter.
Do at least the half-day trip. You will definitely want a few hours on the river and with travel time, instruction time, etc, any shorter trip will not do justice to the amazing experience of rafting the river. We were there during the July 4th week and got the wetsuits. My husband said he could have done without but I appreciated having the additional warmth when the icy water hit us on the river. Much later than early July and you probably won't need the wetsuit during summer.
The instructions (from Guide Don) were thorough and professionally presented so that everyone from grammies to grand kids could understand. The boats were in great shape and the equipment was top quality. If my husband is impressed, it's good stuff!
Our guide Bella was outstanding. Relaxed yet professional, we knew we were in great hands. She talked to us throughout the trip and informed us of different river features and what to look out for (good and bad) in rafting. The entire guide team for our group was professional, experienced and funny! They made us feel safe yet relaxed and they appealed to all ages represented in our group.
We are already planning on going back for a multi-day trip. A great trip for the entire family that shouldn't be missed!
