Again we are using Sav-On tours to book this excursion (see my review on TA on No Door Helicopter explaination on Sav-On). Their price for parasailing was for $61/pp vs $ 74 on TA on the same 800 feet of line (8 minutes in air).
Also picked this company because they are just 8 minutes walk to the pier from where we stayed at HHV (Hilton Hawaiian Village), even though free shuttle is provided (and there were some negative reviews on that) so we chose this company rather than go to another company at a farther away spot.
Anyway, the whole boat excursion from pier to open water area took about 15-20 minutes. And we took turn being launched 2 at a time. The actual length of the rope more like 1000 feet and the hang time was definitely more than 8 minutes. For $61 it was absolutely thrilling, wonderful experience and NOT scary at all. The ladies might scream a little initially, but once you are up in the air, the WHOLE Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head are in your view, you are just floating serenely like a segull, words cannot describe the experience.
A definite must do in Waikiki in my opinion.
Oh the $30 at the end to buy the SDHC card from them, though pricey is worth it for the 60 or so pictures they took. I brought my waterproof camera along also so we got some pretty unique pictures/photos from high above as well.
