The 1692 Salem Historical Day Tour will meet at the Hermetic Arts Center at 272 Essex St. Your Guide will check you in, and the tour will start at the corner of Essex and Sewell St. From there, you will continue down Essex St. to the Witch House. As you walk through Salem to visit each historical site, you will hear a jaw-dropping story covering Salem's history before the trials, what caused the witch hysteria, who were the Judges and Accusers, how residents responded to the accusations, who were the 20 victims, and how the trials came to an end. Jeff is a very knowledgeable, friendly tour guide. As a Salem native, he has a bone-deep knowledge of the city. His historical knowledge is impeccable, but he also peppers his comments with humor and personal anecdotes. He is sympathetic to the victims of the witch trials, but he also understands what motivated their accusers. He carefully draws parallels between 1692 and more recent history. On a personal note, I certainly appreciated Jeff's efforts to ensure the pace was right for me as someone who walks with a cane.

This was the most amazing tour I have ever taken. I love learning about history and all thing Salem history. this tour touched on so many important aspects of the Salem Witch Trials. The tour guide, Jeff , answered all of our questions and then some. Take this tour! You will not regret it!

We chose this tour for the historical part and it completely met our expectations. A lot of information in a short time - good English is required! My daughter and husband being bilingual - no problem! For my part - important concentration to miss as little as possible! The Guide was excellent! We enjoyed it! Thank you!
