I am very happy with my experience renting a RAD e-bike from Prescott E-bike. Their online and email communications were clear, precise, and helpful. Their online waiver and payment processes took a few minutes but helped to clarify what I needed to do next. Drake, the bike wrangler, (my term, not their’s) was early, amazingly patient, thorough, friendly and helpful. I learned more about RAD e-bikes during his introductory presentation than I did during months of research online. Drake answered each of my questions and even clarified information I did not understand from the RAD website. I was lucky to be the only renter at my appointment so I got a beginner’s Master Class. I am old and gray-haired and female and have not been on a bike in a decade or more. I am thinking about buying a RAD e-bike to get me off the couch and out of the house. The bike I rented, a RAD Rover, is huge, heavy and far too much for me but Drake set it up as though I might have skills beyond my appearance and I quickly learned my limits. I ended up trying four (4) different e-bikes. Somehow, Drake consistently answered my questions, offered suggestions and listened to my ideas. I had trouble getting a fit that did not make my heels hit my thigh with every rotation of the peddles or made it impossible for me to sit on the seat and peddle at the same time. I even managed to do a Biker Biden loss of balance to the right. The geometry of an e-bike frame is different than that of a standard street or mountain bike. The e-bike geometry and my geometry are only compatible in a narrow range. However, I did get a fit that worked. I did get on the trail. I rode just under 12 miles. I stopped several times to practice starting and stopping, my very own e-bike weakness. An e-bike is the second best idea since our foremothers fought for National Parks. The thrill of being able to ride again, save gas, enjoy the out of doors and be a part of the real world is so much fun it can become addictive. I will rent from Prescott E-bike again before I buy (and for visitors) but I won’t have to take up so much of a Wrangler’s time. I have now passed the Beginner’s Master Class. I highly recommend Prescott E-bike. You will learn a lot, see some amazing landscape, get a sunburn (remember sunscreen), get some exercise without becoming exhausted (carry lots of water) and have a ton of FUN!
