We found this kayak tour and rental online. The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek. We called Tuesday morning and were going to book a tour but they didn't have any that day. So we decided to just drive over from the Orlando area and rent a tandem kayak. The lady assured me that we wouldn't get lost and gave us some information on what we would see paddling South and North. We opted to paddle to the Cypress forest area. It was so awesome. There is hardly a current so its easy to paddle there and back. It took us a little over an hour round trip. We went a little ways North too. I can't recommend this place enough. The staff were so nice and professional And the kayaking through the narrow stream amidst the Cypress trees was just remarkable. Beautiful ! We are definitely going back and telling everyone about it.

Cathy made our trip come true.!!! She went out of her way to go with us sharing stories and pointing out many of the birds to see. This is a place to visit in Florida . As seniors we felt safe and young again. Thanks Cathy once more.

The three of us booked this tour last Sunday morning and were the only kayakers along with our guide Joshua. Joshua was a very informative guide, explaining the plants, trees and animals as we drifted by. He came in on his day off to lead our tour group! This is a very leisurely paddle, as you start out doing with the light current downstream. The scenery is very pretty, and we did see a few animals along the way. While we didn't see any alligators, we heard that other did. I'd say that kayakers of all skill levels can do this trip. The return trip is a little more work going upstream, but nothing too strenuous.
