If a private tour of the city that only includes members of your group and having the flexibility to customize your experience is what you are looking for, this is a good option. I previously took a group tour and enjoyed that they took care of making sure you saw the most important sites. Dexter was very accommodating about be willing to show us what we wanted to see. However, since most of our group had never been to D.C. it was difficult to answer that question when you did not know what there was to see.

I also did not appreciate the fact that when I booked this tour, I specifically asked if we could be picked up at our condo. They assured us this was not a problem. I was told that after I booked the tour, I would get the contact number for our tour guide and we could confirm details. I was able to connect directly with Dexter which was great. However, two and a half hours before our pick-up time, I got a text saying that our location was beyond their normal pick-up range and was asked to meet him at a particular Metro stop that I was not familiar with since we were new to the area. When I explained that two members of our group were coming from a different location, he did agree to let us meet him at a different Metro location.HOWEVER, why were we told the pick-up at our condo was acceptable, he later confirmed it was possible and then we are told two plus hours before our tour that it was a complication????

Again, if a private van with only your group is what you are looking for, this company is a good option. If this is your first time in D.C. and you want to see all the important sights, consider other options.

We had a four hour tour with Dexter. It was a great experience. Dexter was very communicative leading up to the trip, on time, very kind, extremely knowledgeable, and even lots of fun! We are already planning another trip and will definitely try to get a day tour with Dexter during that time. Our trip was family vacation/daughter's 18th birthday, and Dexter made sure to make her feel included in the decision-making. I visited DC last year and took a four hour hop on / hop off bus tour. It did not even rival the moonlight tour on August 4, 2017. I learned more in the first hour with Dexter than the entire four hours of the bus tour. We have discussed Dexter and the tour even after returning home and have already recommended him...and will continue to do so! Dexter was great!
