Let me start by saying my un-wife is a native Nevadan and has lived her entire life there. The ocean is a bit intimidating to her. I on the other hand grew up very close to the Pacific Ocean in SoCal. She was a trooper and went on the trip and enjoyed it very much. Matt was a guide and while he got to dive he spent most of his time talking about the islands, history, geography, the fish. the coral and whatever else. He had answers for all our questions.
I know this area off Makena is locally referred to as Turtle Town. We saw a group of five resting on the bottom and then coming up for air. Matt did say that you do not often get to see so many so close together - very lucky I guess.
Including Matt there were six of us in the group. It was very personalized. Matt assisted us getting into and out of kayak. He didn't want help schelping the kayak to and from the water. He did everything possible to make the trip very pleasant.
Oh, the water was really smooth and not much swell. Which was nice for my partner. She enjoyed the adventure and is willing to do it again.
