My husband and I were in Lake Tahoe celebrating our anniversary. When I saw the Polaris slingshot rentals advertised, I knew this would be something my husband would love to do, as well as I.
Oh my, this was one of the best things we did on this trip. What a rush, so much fun. I'm only sorry we didn't rent the slingshot for four hours, we rented for 3 hours.
First, time flies, do yourself a favor, rent this for the 4 hours, you'll need it and you'll want it for that long. Ryan, one of the owners of the company - was super sweet, answered all our questions, and was incredibly helpful. As Ryan told us, you'll of course want to go around the entire lake, which will take around 70 minutes without stopping. But, you will stop - to see Emerald Bay and a few other beautiful gorgeous look out points. Plus, you will stop to do many photos, you'll stop for lunch or coffee, etc..
The only thing, if I could suggest - the earlier you go, the better chance there will be a place to pull over and park at Emerald Bay and other look outs -And honestly, early, - if you can get out there in the mornings, do it. We weren't able to pull over, because we rented the slingshot from 11-2.. And those lookout spots are very very crowded with hikers and people who have parked to take photos and walk around.
It was a cluster of cars and people and while we werent able to stop, we did see Emerald Bay and a few other look out points, but had to drive on as there was no where to pull over. Still though, it was the best, we stopped at other locations, took lots of photos, got coffee, walked around for a bit in a few towns - it was amazing, so much fun. We got a lot of love , waves, and thumbs up :) Like I said, time flew by, and before we knew it, we had to return the slingshot. I thought we'd be back way early, but we were actually a few minutes over - because we had to gas up before returning. Don't hesitate, do this, please. You will be so happy you did! Thank you so much Ryan :)
