First of all, Griff was awesome! My partner and I were the only two booked for the day, and so we had our own personal guide the whole time. Griff was knowledgeable about Hawaii's history and full of passion for this wonderful place. Our journey began with kayaking. About 5 minutes in, we saw an 8-foot Manta Ray breach the water just 25 yards from the kayak! It was spectacular. Then, we found a pod of dolphins and kayaked with them for about 40 minutes - they were swimming under the kayak and right next to us! Last, we snorkeled and saw many sea turtles as well as some tropical fish. On the way back to shore, Griff scored us a bonus treat (Mahalo, Griff!). The overall experience was outstanding!! I would definitely recommend this company and the Deluxe Makena Turtle Snorkel Tour (the tour we took) - overwhelmingly beautiful and spiritual.

Peter had us on whales in late season within 20 minutes. Being 30 feet from mother and calf in kayaks with your family is a once in a lifetime experience. This will be our greatest memory of Hawaii. The launch point is Makena Landing. We did a deluxe tour and had a private trip. After whales, saw about 30 turtles and snorkeled 2 reefs. It might have been a fortunate day but it was utopic.

My wife and I took the Makena Landing Ocean Adventure Kayak & Snorkeling Tour. We had an amazing experience!! Griff was our guide and it was just my wife and i along with Griff. Even though there was just the two of us Griff was still very excited to get us out and show us he beloved ocean and sea creatures. First of all, he took time to explain how to handle the kayak and what was going to take place during our tour. My wife had never snorkeled and we were both a little on edge about getting in and out of the kayaks in the ocean. No problem Griff had us paddle around the area and showed us the reef and turtles and then we paddled into a cove where we could get in and out of the kayaks on the beach. Griff was then very careful to explain how to snorkel and got both my wife and I out snorkeling. You also can pay a minimal amount extra and they will take pictures of you and your excursion including the fish and turtles and I am sure whales in season. I received around 100 pictures. It is clear after talking to Peter and going out with Griff that they very much care about giving you the very best experience possible. They provided us with a great deal of history of the island and information about the ocean and keeping it pristine as it is now. I would recommend Griff and Peter at the highest level possible. It is not easy to find this level of personal service and providing over and above what is expected. As I said in the title of this review, TAKE THIS TOUR!!
