Upper Geyser Basin
Yellowstone’s famous Old Faithful is a must-see on everyone’s trip to Yellowstone National Park. This is a nice way to tour the Old Faithful area. Don’t get stuck in the busy traffic at Old Faithful! Meet us at the Biscuit Basin Trailhead to see Yellowstone’s most famous geyser, avoiding parking problems. Explore geysers, hot springs, steam vents and mud pots along the Firehole River. The hike is a six hour, six-mile loop. There are some ups and downs along the hike as we follow boardwalks and dirt trails, totaling 500 feet of elevation gain. We learn about the supervolcano we sit in as we enjoy a hearty picnic lunch next to exploding waters. Yellowstone Hiking Guides provides a morning snack, hearty picnic lunch, bear spray, backpacks, optical gear, trekking poles, and a professional guide.

Ненадолго заезжаем в Old Faithful Inn.

Alex was an excellent guide. She was very passionate about Yellowstone in general and she was very knowledgeable about so many subjects regarding the park and its habitat. We saw a bison about 10 minutes into our walk that was very close to our trail, but thankfully he was not interested in us and never lifted his head off the ground from eating. She was so excited to see certain geysers erupt that normally are not regular "eruptors". Our lunch (which you individually carry your own) was very tasty and filling. She offered walking sticks and backpacks if you wanted them. We were allowed time to explore the Old Faithful Lodge Inn which was really cool and allowed us time to watch Old Faithful erupt! We ended up walking 7.5miles, but only because it was 4 of us and we were all good hikers. I would highly recommend this hike!

Marissa was our guide and she was amazing! Very enthusiastic and knowledgable. She took time to explain history, geology, animals in the park and their different tracks, mating rituals, and habits. We saw bison, eagles, chipmunks, coyotee and ravens. Her timing of the geysers was spot on. We hiked a bit over 6 miles with very little elevation change. The lunch provided was tasty and fresh. I highly recommend Yellowstone Hiking Guides. We saw so much more with a guide then we would have seen (or learned) on our own.
