Guests will walk above the Park to see the original location of the Basin Park Spring that was used for healing during the 1880's. They will also see where the Spring is now in the basin of the Park.

Guests will walk up to the Flatiron Building and learn about the history of this iconic (and most photographed) location and the trick about it. Following that they walk up to where the first bank robbery using a vehicle was committed, stories about the three fires, and the history of the Prohibition Era in Downtown Eureka Springs. Venturing further down a secret set of steps that is also a platted street they learn about Carrie Nation who gave her last temperance speech before passing away in Kansas.

Start at Basin Park with the history of Eureka and the springs that made it famous. The tour continues from Basin Park to a couple of blocks up Spring street then down to Center street and finally to Main street near Grand Central Hotel. The guide was good, however, the expectation was to be taken to areas of the city that even few locals have been - underground. We ended in the basement of an old building and never went beyond that. The history given on the tour is information that is information that can be found on brass plaques at various historical buildings around the city. This tour is put on by city officials with funds from the tour used to make enhancements around the city. However, the misleading title "Underground Tour", leaves this customer feeling scammed - not the sort of conduct you would think from the city itself.

It's unfortunate when what we offer isn't a match for a visitor's expectations. Our guides are trained storytellers and we hope that is a much better experience than reading brass plaques. We hope the rest of your visit to Downtown Eureka Springs was a better fit. Main Street Eureka Springs a 501c3 nonprofit - a private nonprofit that works to preserve Downtown Eureka Springs (not a city organization).

Fun tour, easy walking, and loved seeing and hearing the history of Eureka Springs. The tour guide was AMAZING and knowledgeable. He spoke clearly and loudly and brought some fun in with the tour, which kept it interesting from beginning to start.
