This is a fabulous tour and we had a great time! air-conditioned bus visit to the north side of the White House and Lafayette Square with ample time to take pictures. Next stop was the impressive World War II Memorial 2004 with restroom. Followed by a visit to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial 1943 with snackbar and a quick stop at the new Martin Luther King Memorial 2011. The memorial stop was a walking tour of the Korean War Memorial 1995, the Abraham Lincoln Memorial 1922 with restroom and Vietnam Memorial 1982. visit Cedar Hill was the Anacostia neighborhood home of Frederick Douglass, last stop was the African-American history Museum, must see!!!
This tour was very informative and relaxed. Our tour guide Kenny provided a lot of information about African American history and culture in the District of Columbia. However, these tidbits were not told to us at other tours. A definite MUST DO! The extra bonus were entry into the Smithsonian Museum of African America Culture.
