Taking off from the Alaska Glacier Lodge in the Mat-Su Valley to the Knik Glacier (5 miles wide by 29 miles long!). We land right in the middle of the Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes on ice thousands of years old with your pilot/guide. We provide ice spikes for you to safely hike on the ice Take pictures of the blue lakes on top of the glacier, crevasses and ice ‘sculptures’ made by wind, sunshine & time. (Summer)
**WINTER TOURS (Oct-April) please note that this tour in some winter months may not land directly on top of the glacier due to snow cover and safety issues, landing may be on the side next to incredible deep blue ice formations**
Total tour time 1 hour includes 30 mins for round trip flightseeing

CHECK IN 45 mins PRIOR TO DEPARTURE IS REQUIRED - please check departure address to plan accordingly. Late check in can result in a shortened or cancelled tour with no refund

WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee

The helicopter tour was so much fun and so worth it. Our pilot, Cameron, did a great job guiding us and flying. We got so many amazing pictures and had the best time. 10/10 recommend

5+ stars! This was such an amazing experience! It was my first time in a helicopter, and I'm afraid of heights, but I felt incredibly comfortable with this company and Cameron my pilot. It was an incredibly smooth flight with breathtaking views. Also, the helicopter was nice and warm which is great when going out in February. Cameron was very knowledgeable and gave great information about the location. I can't wait to go again! They also gave the option to be picked up and dropped off, and Kevin was a great driver with tons of information and let us stop to take pictures on the way home.

We can't describe how picturesque and amazing the flight and walking tour of the glacier were. Cameron was an awesome guide and pilot! We got so many awesome videos and pictures that it'll be hard to just choose a few for framing. Highly recommend! I used to be a helicopter avionics tech so I know a fair bit about flying in them and how they operate. This was a joyous experience.
