This adventure-packed trip travels through the 1,100-foot cliffs of the Royal Gorge. The Royal Gorge rafting tour is famous for its steep drops, huge waves, and continuous Class III to Class V whitewater. The spectacular scenery and rapids of the Royal Gorge will thrill even the most expert whitewater veteran. Previous experience is not required to raft the Royal Gorge. Suggested age varies with water levels.

Initially some questions I had were would we need the wet suits in July (no, the water is cold but not freezing and you're not in it constantly...but the weather was warm too so it felt refreshing). I would wear their booties though...they come up above your ankles and are snug and since you use your feet to anchor yourself in through the rapids, I think these would work better than your standard water shoes. I wore shorts and a moisture wicking shirt and I was fine. My daughter wore leggings and a cotton t-shirt and said she was cold after our stop to swim because the water stayed in her clothes. The life jackets and helmets had a little odor at first but it wasn't strong and I didn't notice it after 5 minutes. We did the half day Royal Gorge float July 23. This was our first time white water rafting and my 17 year old daughter was very nervous and wanted to back out when she saw the water. Andrew was our guide and was great at explaining things to us and making us feel safe. After the first Class IV rapid my daughter was smiling ear to ear. She was so glad she didn't back out and said we should have done the all day float. I thought we were going to hit the big boulders several times and Andrew took us right up to them and we barely brushed them, if we touched them at all. He knows what he's doing and it's easy to see that. Andrew said the tough floats were the beginning of the season when the water is high and the end of the season when the water is low. We were there at the perfect time. The free lunch was standard hamburger and hot dogs with chips and soda and was good. And the fact they contracted with the photography company and we got the 15 pictures included was great. Thank you Andrew and Raft Masters for an awesome experience we definitely want to have again!

This was amazing! Jake was a fantastic guide and did a phenomenal job of navigating us through the rolling waters! He was a lot of fun and very engaging! We had a blast and would definitely do this one again! Raft Masters and Jake are top notch!
