Auburn Avenue African American All Inclusive Tour is designed to give guests an overview of Black life and culture in Atlanta, starting from Juneteenth/Emancipation Day,1865 to Atlanta modern Civil Rights Movement, 1965. Heavy emphasis will be placed on Rosenwald educational system for Black students in Atlanta and Booker T Washington who was known as the Great Black Educator. Come and see the relationship between Alonzo Herndon, George Washington Carver, and Julius Rosenwald Foundation.
Guests will see Atlanta Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Georgia's first Black public high school and America's first Black city park. Booker T Washington High School was the first black public high school in Georgia and the first Black school in the Atlanta Public School System. Come and see how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Grandfather organized the community to create a public high school for Black students in Atlanta. This same school is where Dr. Martin Luther King attended.

Guests will see the community of young Martin Luther King Jr. Martin was born in his Grandfather Rev Alfred Daniel Williams home, this home and community has been restored back to represent the first twelve years of Martin Luther King Jr.

Guest will see how education, a small southern town, and communities provided education for Black students prior to emancipation. The van was having engine problems and the air conditioning barely worked. My dad is an Atlanta native and probably knew more about the history than the tour guide.

Peachy Keen Tourism Travel, tours are created to give guests an an introduction to Atlanta Civil Rights histories. This is August in Atlanta, Georgia we are touring the city in the midst of Atlanta in a heat wave. We do not change tour itinerary because someone grew up here and want to see the areas that he or she is familiar with. Please read our introduction before booking our tour, we cater to people and not individuals. We will not change our itinerary because of certain groups interest. Shelley was early to pick us up, communication was great. She called me about 30 minutes before start time. Shelley was extremely knowledgeable about Atlanta. The history, present and future. We toured Carter center, MLK park and many other places. This was my family's first time here and after the tour , they got a true since of Atlanta.
