Убийственная прогулка Остина

Обзор
Voted by the Austin Chronicle 2022 Critic's Choice "Best Nightlife Activity." In the year 1885 America’s first serial killer stalked the streets and alleyways of the young, emerging city of Austin. More terrifying than any ghost story, this monster brutally and systematically hacked eight women to death using an ax. For one calendar year, he terrified a city and came to be known as the “midnight assassin”. He was never captured and his identity remains a mystery or does it...?

This tour is our longest at 1 hour 45 minutes and covers 2 miles of historic Austin including West 6th street, Guy Town, the Warehouse District and a drink stop at the iconic Driskill Hotel. The pace is leisurely and, in addition to a drink stop at the Driskill, (drinks not included), there are short rests along the journey.

Join us on this exceptional true crime walking tour investigating exact crime locations and the various theories surrounding the midnight assassin. It’s a “killer” tour.

I read "The Midnight Assassin" and it left me wanting to walk around Austin and see some of the historical places and locations included in the book, and then I found that exact tour in "Murder Walk Austin"! The book was a bit hard for me to get through due to the gore (I'm not a true-crime junkie and liked it more for the history). The tour was similar in that they don't spare any details in the descriptions of the murders - which I should've expected for my tender heart. So that's my mini warning if you have a weak stomach! But overall I really enjoyed our guide and his passion and knowledge of the account of the serial killings in Austin. I also enjoyed our bonus ghost story at The Driskill.

This is our newest and greatest tour at Walking Tours of Austin. I LOVE to give this tour because it unwraps a story that few know about in Austin...the first serial killer in American history. Thanks for coming and thanks for the “killer” review (sorry):) Best JM
