Amazing day, we were lucky enough to go up on a clear day during the Mauna Lua eruption. The acclimation to the high altitude was harder than expected but totally worth the troubles. Our guide Shoyo was fantastic, very knowledgeable, attentive. The vegetarian sandwich was delicious as well as the Belgian hot chocolate. The view from the top was mesmerizing. A memorable adventure not to be missed…

Shawn did a great job ! We had a beautiful sunset and a bonus of getting to see Mauna Loa and the lava flow !! The moon was to bright to see all of the stars that we wanted to. But oh well …..

The bus was not terribly comfortable compared to how some of the other tour buses looked (larger, more spacing between seats). Hawaii forest company had a bigger more spacious bus. This tour did spend more time at each location than others appeared to but we were shamed for asking for our food earlier than 730 pm and it was just a vegetarian sandwich vs the advertised lasagna. Beverages during the ~6.5hr trip were one cup of tea or hot cocoa and only one water. The other bus driver that also was on tour seemed nicer than ours. Ours was professional but got upset when we asked for things. Seemed a little stressed/overloaded.
