Not worth the money! It's not really all day, difficult to fit in stops, and we were left stranded on Hollywood Blvd. Do NOT try to take blue loop AND red loop. Separately, they are both very long loops & using them together means you won't have time to get off anywhere (maybe 1 stop, but keep the visit short) since pick-ups are 30 minutes to 45 minutes apart. Service ends at 4:30 so you have to do some careful planning. The math doesn't work. Unless you start right at 10 on red Hollywood loop, you might not complete the loop or see what you want to see.
The first Beach/blue loop pick up isn't until 11:15 (we were in Santa Monica, so our morning was a wasted waiting for the first bus). We picked that up, then switched to the red loop. We made 1 stop at the Tar Pits and continued on the loop only to be kicked off at the Big Bus Center and told it was over. We were unable to see the whole red loop since the Blue Loop connecting stop is 3 stops later. But, we were told in didn't matter, since the blue loop to get back was done too. We ended up taking our family of four back to Santa Monica on the subway. Yay!
Plus, the recorded tour wasn't really up to date and the stops for pickup are unmarked. The app was the most helpful part of the experience.
Given the amount of money we spent for a family of four, the limited hours of service, length of each loop, and length of bus pick-ups, skip the Big Bus. I suggest another tour company, or just do a self-guided tour in a car or uber.
