I inferred that our guide had done much of his own research. He had an enjoyable way of describing the interesting events he had found. For example, his detailed narrative of the Boston Massacre gave a word picture of the incident as it unfolded, revealing the shooting began by accident and continued as a result of a misunderstanding between the British officer and his troops.

The tour and tour guide were great - informative and interesting with a good mix of history and humor. There were just too many people on the tour. We did the 10:30 tour (which ends at 12) and there were at least 75 people on the tour. It made it very difficult to get close to the certain monuments and made it difficult to hear the guide sometimes. The worst part was crossing the busy city streets - we blocked traffic a couple times crossing the street because there were so many people. We saw the same tour guide later in the day with a group of about 20 people which seemed much better. I'd recommend avoiding the 10:30 tour if you want to hear and see everything clearly.

The tour guide was great, informative and entertaining with a good mix of history and humor - there were just too many people on the tour. We did the 10:30 tour (which ends at 12) and there were more than 75 people in the group. This made it difficult to go from site to site and in some areas we didn't fit near the monument and it was difficult to hear because of the street noise and distance from the guide. The worst part was crossing the busy city streets with a giant group - a couple of times we blocked traffic crossing the street. We passed the tour area later in the day and saw the same guide with a group of 20 or so. I would recommend taking the tour at a different time to avoid the crowd.
