I thought I was merely buying a ticket for a hop on hop off trolley tour of Boston. I got so much more.
On a perfect mid June afternoon my wife and I boarded trolley #113 of the CityView Trolley Tour Company. We were greeted by a jovial man who told us his name was Hugo. Bespectacled and graying, we knew instantly he was the sage we needed for a tour around historic Boston. His eyes how they twinkled, his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! The doors clamped shut, the bell pealed like a whistle, and off we all flew, like the down of a thistle! Hugo expertly navigated the twists and turns of old Beantown, bestowing historic facts mixed with comedy gold. The audience was so captivated that nary a one wanted to get off at any of the stops. Alas, all good things must come to an end. Misty eyed, we parted, but vowed to return. Huzzah!
If you go, ask for Hugo, and be prepared for all other tours to pale in comparison.
