At the last minute the tour operator advised there were only 2 of us and they were offering us an upgraded tour. She had communicated with me over a time change before the tour change also. Since this was last minute I really didn’t have time to research and accepted although I did note the new tour was considerably cheaper. They said it was better. I had to press them a couple times for the refund difference. It was not better - By far. We went to a petting zoo, drove long distances and had a bbq lunch with hundreds of other people. Instead of going to a mushers camp we saw dogs in the petting zoo from the humane society. We never got to see the adult dogs but 2 pups and one was a black lab. The office staff was downright rude to me when I was unhappy about the switch. Our bus driver told us he did not like bears and we were actually lucky to speed by a few but he always had an excuse why he could not stop or slow down. We were in a converted school bus and because of the confusion we had the two back seats (we are both over 70) and it was like riding a galloping horse for 5+ hours. We came inches off our seats several times because the back end was not above the wheels but suspended in the back and went back to the ship with back aches. We stopped at the Yukon sign and our driver took everyones photo as we stood in line but when it was our turn, he hustled everyone back to the bus. When we expressed our displeasure about this, he did make a point of stopping back at the sign in the way back “to take the photo of the couple missed” - it was a little embarrassing esp since people were in a hurry to get back to another ship which was leaving. There were 14 of us. I was very much looking forward to the original tour.

After alot of research we decided to do this tour instead of the Train. I think we made the right choice! This tour was amazing. Stopped at several places and took pictures. The Suspension Bridge was amazing and views incredible. Our guide was Chelsea and she was fantasic and we learned so much about Skagway history and living there. Saw a bear walking down the side of the road. The puppies were cute, there were about 6-8 months old so not little puppies. The puppies were a fun stop but we could have probably done without that part. We did get to see the dogs pulling a 4 wheeler which was cool but not like pulling a sled, but it was June LOL. The bus was comfortable. Pick up right off the cruise ship. We opted to get dropped off in town and tried a flight of beer and then Red Onion Saloon for Duck Fart Shots before going back to the ship. It was a good day. Wish we had time for the tour at Red Onion Saloon - maybe another time!

This is one of the best tours we’ve ever taken. Beautiful views, no rushing us at any point. Our tour guide was wonderful. Very personable and knowledgeable. Can’t recommend this enough!
