I bought a Google Offer for a full-day rafting trip with River Runners in Browns Canyon for two people. My boyfriend and I drove 2.5 hours to the launch point in Buena Vista from my home in Denver. Sounds like a long drive, but it was absolutely beautiful, so not a pain at all.
River Runners had a really friendly staff and great facilities. The equipment they provided us with was in good condition, and our rafting guide was really nice and instructed us clearly and showed us the right way to paddle, etc.
As far as how strenuous it was: My boyfriend and I are both generally fit people but I never felt like I had to exert myself too much. Most able-bodied adults (and kids, probably) would be able to tackle this trip.
Browns canyon is beautiful, River Runners operated a great trip and we had a blast. Also, pro tip: Buy a pass to the Mt. Princeton hot springs. So worth it when your muscles are a little tired from rafting and you're chilly from the cold water. That place is gorgeous, too. And try some of the restaurants on Main Street Buena Vista. Some neat/tasty places.
Weather was not on our side, as it hailed on us briefly (chilly for June.) But when we broke for lunch with the other rafts the weather cleared up and we could dry off/warm up. (Lunch was tasty, too.)
Review in a nutshell: It hailed on us during our trip, and we still had a killer time. VISIT THESE PEOPLE!!
