The rapids!!! Matt was our guide and was very outgoing, knowledgeable and very friendly. Our lunch was good and tasty.

We had a great time rafting Browns Canyon with our 9 year old daughter! We were nervous leading up to the trip as we didn't know how intense the rapids would be and we were worried about the chance of our daughter falling out. But as soon as we got started, we were instantly put at ease. Our guide was Chris and he was clearly well experienced and kept us safe, informed, and entertained the entire trip. He's a true professional and we all loved the entire experience! After the raft trip, we returned to the parking lot to find that our rental car had broken down. Alamo refused to send us a new vehicle and Buena Vista is a pretty isolated area so transportation is extremely limited (more like there is none!) We needed to get back to our condo in Breckenridge which is about 1.5 hours away and it was getting to be late. Bailey at the front desk spent probably 2 hours trying to help us call every local company in the area to help us find a ride home and eventually she connected us with Anthony (another employee at AVA) who offered to drive us back to our condo. We were completely desperate and SO grateful to Anthony for saving us! Thank you Bailey for all your help and Anthony for literally keeping us from walking on the side of the road all night with a 9 year old. These are stand up people and I would highly recommend you book your activities with them!

I don't know what I expected for my first whitewater rafting trip, but I'm so impressed with AVA! Everything was so relaxed, so I didn't feel overwhelmed. I was pretty nervous until the guides showed up and just looked like they knew what they were doing (sounds weird, but you'll see what I mean). You get several quick bursts of instructions and safety briefings, which give you a chance to digest everything (and also prevent you from feeling overwhelmed). Our guide, Joey, was very knowledgeable about the river and the mountains. As for the actual rafting, he let us know what to expect as we approached each Class 2 or 3 - including what was creating that particular feature (the nerd in me loved that!). My kids (20, 16, and 14) loved talking to him, and want to request him for a future rafting trip! Book with AVA- you won't regret it!
