If Disney is the “Happiest place on earth” then Busch Gardens has to take the title for “The most miserable place on earth”. Having spent a number of days at Disney and experienced the happy, cheerful staff who always had a smile and a friendly greeting it was quite a shock to the system being at Busch Gardens. We have been here for 5 hours so far and most ride staff have not uttered a single word to us (a grunt or two at best), not even in response to a greeting from us.
The rides themselves seem understaffed, with 1 member of staff at the main entrance of each ride and no-one controlling the embarkation points on many of them so it turns into a free for all where the quick queue and standard queues merge.
On one ride we were told the quick queue wasn’t operating as there was “only a short queue” in the standard line but 2 minutes later people were let into the quick queue. Regardless of the length of the standard queue the quick queue should always operate when you have paid for it!
Food quality and choice is very poor, with most outlets serving the exact same choices (pizza, chicken, burger or Caesar salad).
During the current thunderstorm, there is a huge queue at the Giraffe Bar in the Serengeti Overlook and only 1 person working the entire bar area.
The rides themselves are really good, but the entire experience feels cheap, run down and leaves me wishing I’d spent the money elsewhere instead. The ONLY reason I’ve given it as high as 2/5 is because the rides are actually very good.
