Overall, a nice catamaran cruise, but calling it a cruise, a bit of a stretch. Having done similar cat cruise’s in Virgin Islands and Aruba where there’s truly a cruise, i.e.several miles offshore w/ sails set, Ko Olina’s cruise is perhaps 1/2 mile offshore drops anchor in front of the energy plant just down the beach from the Four Seasons. There was no sailing, just motoring. We purchased SNUBA for my family of five and on our cruise, there was another couple who also bought SNUBA upgrade. The cat stops a two dive sites and we’d assumed that as we’d purchased the SNUBA upgrade, that we’d be SNUBA diving at both sites. In reality, we were all informed at the first dive site that ONLY 4 SNUBA divers can dive at a time, i.e. 3 SNUBA divers could not dive during each dive. We’d assumed, incorrectly, that when buying the SNUBA upgrade, we’d all be able to SNUBA at each of the two dive sites and that the charter had enough equipment and staff to accommodate all those who purchased this upgrade — they did not.
Net-net, SNUBA is great for those who haven’t or don’t have their SCUBA certification. Ko Olina Adventure and the marina just need to be more clear and upfront with what you get for you $$$.
