Captain and crew were welcoming and knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning more about the City of Charleston and the importance of the harbor in American history.

We had booked this as part of a trip further south; however, Hurricane Ian changed our plans dramatically as where we had planned to go was totally under water and would not be available for habitation. We knew that this cruise was listed as not refundable but it really makes no sense to anyone that such a catastrophic storm would not be enough to cancel and get a full refund. We will NEVER book with anything on Tripadvisor again. All our other reservations were canceled and payment was immediately refunded! The Cruise company issued a certificate that has no expiration date that we can use in the future is we plan to go to Charleston again but in the meanwhile we have no refund of our payment. We have no plans to do this trip in the foreseeable future.

Charleston didn't sustain any major damage from Hurricane Ian, but we certainly would have refunded any cruises that were canceled due to the impending storm and winds or guests whose travel was impacted. We really enjoyed our tour, especially because it was a beautiful day. For us, this was great because we got to be on the water to see the battery from ship, Fort Sumter from the water, and we went under the Ravenel Bridge. The total tour time is 1.5 hours. If we had more time, it makes sense to do the Fort Sumter tour which also tours the harbor, however, the difference is timing. When talking to the Park Service at the docks, they told us the Fort Sumter tour is 3 hours. So, the Harbor Tour is a great alternative for those not wanting as long a tour.
