The tour was everything we hoped for. We saw excellent examples of Deco architecture in one of the coolest cities in the country. Our guide, Barbara, was excellent and very informative. She definitely had some "connections" (definitely legal!!!) that allowed us to see some things that the general public may not be able to see. I would rate this tour a 10!
Too much repeat information and the guide was not interested in your input!
On May 17 at 10:45 am, my husband and I showed up for the 11am art deco walking tour only to be told that it had left at 10 am. It seems that the time was changed after I had purchased my tickets which I had arranged before leaving home. I wasn't sure why an e-mail had not been sent informing me of this but the people at the counter were very obliging and said they could reschedule; fortunately there was a tour on the Sunday morning at 11 am (kind of ironic) so they gave me tickets for that. Unfortunately for us, we both came down sick that night and couldn't make it the next day so tickets went unused. It was one of the things i had really been looking forward to. We did however do the Architecture River Cruise later that day and the guide (who all volunteer) was very knowledgeable about all the buildings along the river, the politics, the egos of the architects, etc. It is certainly something that everyone visiting Chicago should do.
I will also attempt to do the art deco walking tour the next time I am in Chicago, which is a beautiful City. I will just not book my tour til I get there.
