Where do I begin? A more accurate name for this outfit is Downstream DISASTERS! My husband and I signed up for an intermediate trip. Shelled out $178. They took our reservation - good to go, right? So, we booked an overnight trip to Idaho Springs and planned a mini-vacation around this rafting trip. I called the day before to confirm and ask about recommended clothing/gear - the girl who answered the phone seemed out of it and less than helpful, however, she said we were good to go. We signed our online waivers and arrived the next day, to find the office closed. No one there. Two other families showed up, too. We called to find out what was going on. Same girl answered the phone and said the trips had been cancelled due to low water levels. Her solution was to drive over an hour for a level five trip (FIVE? We had a group of beginners and intermediate rafters) or get a refund. No phone calls, emails or texts letting us know this was cancelled. No one at the office to greet us and explain. One family drove from another state and their kids were devastated. THANK GOD for LIQUID DESCENT. They took us in at the last minute and we had a FANTASTIC trip! We did some level three rapids, no problem! Kiersten was a fantastic guide! Other outfits were running - so what the hell was Downstream Adventures problem? Low rent, unreliable garbage operation. You have been warned.

Hi Cheryl, I sent you a lengthy email to explain and apologize for the frustrations you experienced regarding your reservation with us. I will try to be more brief here but just wanted to address your review a bit. On the date you scheduled your trip with us, the water was below acceptable flow levels for the section you requested. There are safety concerns that come with these conditions as well. Water levels on Clear Creek can be very unpredictable and those levels dropped unexpectedly fast over the weekend. On Sunday, water levels were such that we chose to cancel the trips for the remainder of the season. This decision was made by many outfitters, but some did continue on an alternative, much milder section. We felt that any alternative on Clear Creek would have been a highly diminished experience. We are very sorry with how this affected you and grateful to our friends at Liquid Descent for accommodating you on that day. We did attempt to reach out to you by phone on Sunday but did not get a reply. As well, we sent emails, but it is our belief that they were not relayed through the viator booking system that you used to make your reservation. I am so sorry that we were not able to communicate adequately to inform you of the situation. We did refund your full payment and I do hope that you take advantage of the free rafting voucher that I emailed over to you, it has no expiration or blackouts. But our season will always be dependent on snowmelts that historically last until late August. I can assure you that our company and guides are highly regarded and have an amazing amount of experience, we would love the opportunity to change your mind. Sorry again, call anytime. 844-291-4218
