We toured Colonial Williamsburg today, and left early due to closures and lack of lunch options. This is my third trip to Williamsburg, but I was traveling with another family -- it was their first trip. We had four children with us, ages 8 through 16. So many sites and houses were closed. We walked by house after house, only to see a closed sign on the door. Boredom set in early for everyone. Even lunch turned into a drudgery. At 12:15, we asked about lunch options, and were told three different things by three different "workers". We passed several of the lunch "taverns" and ALL were closed. We headed back to the bakery , our only option (we were told there sandwich options), only to wait in a long line and have chips and cookies to choose from. All other lunch options were gone. One worker said things were closed because it was Monday. Seriously? It would have been nice to be told some of these closures at the time we purchased tickets for a family of seven. If indeed, Monday is a slower day for the park, we could have toured another day. What a disappointment. There is no highlight of the day to report.
