Loved this package! So much to see! You need 7 full days to see it all. Museums were amazing and the towns are a must see, even if you don't like history. Relearned so much about the beginnings of our nation!
We purchased the 7 day admission pass and it is worth it. It allows you the freedom to go anywhere except for a few special attractions like shooting a musket, which is 119 and not worth it. Watching the expert do it was good enough. Carriage rides are 15 per person for 15 minutes and it is a nice break, especially if you are tired of walking. Williamsburg is a self sustained re-creation of the colonial town where the staff dresses and speaks as if they are truely inhabitants. They make things with the tools that were used during colonial times, for example: the nails in the floors are made on site at the blacksmith. The staff, for the most part, stay in character and some are so good, you will think you are talking to someone from the 18th century. In my opinion, take the younger children to Disney and the older children to Williamsburg, as it is a valuable lesson in history. Wear your walking shoes too!
The package for 3 days at Williamsburg was great. The only problem was we thought it encompassed the 3 towns of Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown, but it did not. We chose the 3 day pass for 50/adult. We thought it was to use 3 out of 7 days, but found out we had to use 3 consecutive days. To get all of the towns we would have had to chose the highest priced package, but that was not clear in the advertising. So, we had to pay extra for the museum in Yorktown and the Jamestowne settlement. Also, we were lucky enough to have a National Parks Old Age pass yes, we are seniors to enter the visitor centers museums, otherwise we would have had to pay extra for those too. I would suggest you call the centers directly and ask questions before you book online to make sure things haven't changed. We found several times that the charging venues had changed since the website was written being told we notify the online vendors, but we cannot guarantee they change the information. Also, we found out some of the things we would have liked to have done didn't start until mid-April.
It was a great trip and I would recommend it highly!
