The Colorado River is our favorite family-friendly rafting trip. This section of the Colorado River offers scenic views including meadows, valleys, rolling ranch lands and steep canyon walls with wildlife including bald eagles, deer, beavers, and big horn sheep - always something to see. Upper Colorado River Rafting provides mild Class I-II rapids and occasional Class III rapids at higher spring water flows.

Beginning as snowmelt high in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Rockies give birth to the legendary Colorado River. Downstream of the Park, the river intensifies through the famed Class 5 “Gore Canyon”, but below, the river gentles where our Colorado River Rafting trips begin. An introduction to white water rafting for families with children and grandparents, any group looking for a scenic Colorado adventure will enjoy this raft trip.

We are proudly a smaller operation offering intimate Colorado adventures. Our raft guides are highly trained, experienced, and State certified.

We saw some amazing scenery and had a lot of fun white water rafting down the upper Colorado river. Our guides Dustin (aka Crush) and Corbin were knowledgeable and fun. The river was fairly tame with a few areas of rapids. I would recommend this trip for mild thrills and maximum fun.

Nice summary of the trip! We love this river for its feeling of being a tour through remote and scenic Colorado, but it is not all about challenging, splashy whitewater, not after June anyway, because flows are lower mid- to late-summer. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the review!

Fun rapids, roughing it at base camp, long drive to and from water, no snacks or drinks, no seatbelts in van and too many people, guide sat on floorboard

The Upper Colorado River run highlights the remote beauty of the Colorado backcountry. From Vail it's a solid 40 minute drive up a scenic byway. Majestic mountains and rural landscapes surround you in the towering river valley. Two little markets offer ice cream, snacks, and drinks in Rancho del Rio where our boathouse is located. It is a true Colorado backcountry experience.

Fantastic float for a family trip. Our raft guide, Collin, did a wonderful job in guiding the raft and telling about himself and the area. Very personable man. Our van driver to and from the river, Jake, was also remarkable. He also told us of his very entertaining life style and experiences. He also made sure all was safe. A highly recommended place and guides.
