Columbia Glacier is the largest glacier in south-central Alaska. Each day Columbia calves off around 8 million tons of ice. Depending on this ice flow we will navigate the large ice bergs getting as close to the face of Columbia as the ice and safety dictate.

This cruise was one of the high points of our trip l. The narration from the captain was informative and very good. She made efforts to show us many aspects of the area, including the animals. We saw puffins, a humpback whale , several orcas, otters and sea lions and several bald eagles. We were unable to go all the way to the glacier because there was a lot of ice in the water but we had a lovely time. I highly recommend doing this.

Great experience. The Captain went out of her way to give us a wildlife experience we will remember forever. Very informative with geological history, wildlife, and local ice formations. I would recommend to everyone.

Perfect cruise from start to finish. Beautiful boat, informative and entertaining captain, friendly staff and delicious lunch. Even though we weren’t able to get to the face of Columbia because of ice and visibility, we did see the arm and chunks of broken glacier in breathtaking hues of blue. It did not disappoint. We were also thrilled to meet Mary Helen. What a treat! Would highly recommend this cruise.
