We visited here on 6/1 and 6/2/19 for a total of 6 hours. It's a fun and informative place. We thought the demos (glass blowing (Hot shop and Innovation Hot shop areas), glass breaking and flameworking glass molding(both in the Innovation Center) were great. We loved the Heineman Gallery (modern glass), the contemporary Art and design section and the modern section (Tiffany and art deco) section of the 35 Centuries of glass. The Innovation area with information on fiber optics, pyrex, fiberglass and the various types of safety/tempered glass was fascinating. Note: You park in a lot about 1/4 miles (5 to 7 min.) from the museum and can walk or be shuttled to the museum. There is no charge (as of 6/1/19) for parking, it's part of your admission fee. The one thing we wish the museum did was sell the demo pieces in the gift shop. We recommend visiting this museum.

Hi Peter! It sounds like you enjoyed your time here through our galleries and live demonstrations. It's also great to hear that you took advantage of our two consecutive days of admission that comes with every ticket. The benefit of not selling the demo works in The Shops is it gives our Hot Glass team more creative freedom and that some demos end with lucky audience member winning one of the works. You can still find locally made works in The Shops, including some made by glassblowers and flameworkers that work at the Museum. Do not forget that in addition to our discounts (AAA, Military ID, College ID and 62+) Kids and Teens 17 and Under are free. Thank you for your review!

This was my first visit to this location, was at their museum 20 years ago, also 55 years ago. Probably why I have always liked glass. Spent a few hours and if you read everything you could spend several more. Very nice displays and demonstrations. Wish I lived closer I would go more often............. My only shock / complaint was in the end at the gift shop many items were from another country. You go to Corning Glass in NY to get Corning Glass from NY.

Hi Debra! It's great to hear that we may have inspired your interest in glass. As the Museum strives to transform the world's understanding of glass and it's an internationally used material, it makes sense for us to sell glass objects from all around the world in The Shops. Still, over half of our offerings in The Shops are made in the United States; this includes Pyrex, Steuben, and glass objects made by local artisans. Thanks for leaving a review and visiting us!

There is much to see in this museum so plan to spend some time. We were there for about 4 hours and could have spent a couple more. There are several"art" galleries that were well visited.(sorry but I not an art conesur so will not comment on them.) There were also some more science-oriented exhibits that are very well done. From learning how to blow glass to cutting and polishing and even breaking glass - there is something for everyone. There is even a "glass" car!!! The gift shop also has a lot to look at and much of it at a very reasonable price. Food at the GlassMarket Cafe was very good and nicely presented, although a bit pricey.
