A food tour with a felonious twist!

The Federal Hill neighborhood of Providence is one of its hottest destinations, home to some of the best Italian food in the world. This tour will give you a smorgasbord of its best bites and drinks, from fine wines to family recipes passed down through generations. Come hungry!

Every guest will also get a memento from their time on the Hill to take home with them. Spoiler alert: it's delicious!

The Hill was also home to some historic characters who dabbled on the wrong side of the law. Follow the intrigue of State v. Patriarca, when a future mayor took on a mob boss; learn about the corruption which brought Rhode Island's banking system to its knees in the '90s, and about a raid on an illegal dice game that sent a Providence Police Officer through a second-story window.

Guests under 21 will not be served alcohol on this tour.

We met our tour guide Patty and were off on an adventure. She grew up in the area so was able to offer some personal insight. The stories were great. The food served was delicious. I am not an eggplant person but the rollatini was delicious. The cannoli was one of the best I ever had. I thought 3 1/2 hours was going to be long but with a group our size, (I think it was 18) it was needed. Venda Ravioli gave us a coupon to use and we went back and took full advantage of it! The surprise gift from the tour company was very nice and I won't spoil the surprise. I would have given it more stars except for the following-the cost is more expensive than other food tours (downtown Providence with at least six stops and lunch $89) I thought we would have gotten more food, there were supposed to be six stops and there were only five (Tripadvisor description lists six restaurants), the restaurant that is known for its housemade pasta served us imported (and the tour description specifically mentions it), and the lemon square portion was extremely small compared to the cannoli offering. The dessert was brought to us instead of going to the bakery. Since it was our last stop we would have enjoyed seeing what they had available for purchase.

Very informative. Mark was great. Food was delicious everywhere. I would frequent these restaurants again! I wish they would have given us a coupon, even $5 to come back to the restaurant. But it was super! Highly recommend it!
