My mom has been asking to go to Tijuana since I moved to California 4 years ago. She planned on coming this month for a visit, and I decided this would be a good time to go. I have never been to Tijuana, so I figured a tour would be the best way to do it. After reading a few reviews for different tour companies, I decided to go with Viator Crossing Borders : Tijuana Day Trip. My mom and I were the only 2 on the tour, so we had a very personal experience. We were greeted at the end of the path by Gregorio who was actually training to be a guide, and Tadeo Calles his mentor. We took a bus from the border to downtown Tijuana. We walked all over town. We saw all the alley markets. We had an amazing lunch, and went tequila tasting!!! Tadeo knew so much history of Tijuana. He really should be history teacher. It was a totally learning experience, and really changed my whole idea of Tijuana. I thought it was just a party town, but our guides showed us it was so much more!!! We had a long complete day. We took an Uber back to the border, and they explained the process of going through. My mom and I had no issues getting back to the US side. It was an amazing day, and I highly recommend Borders Tours. They make sure you get the most of your day!!
