The National World War I Memorial is a national memorial commemorating the service rendered by members of the United States Armed Forces in World War I. The 2015 National Defense Authorization Act authorized the World War I Centennial Commission to build the memorial in Pershing Park, located at 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. The park, which has existed since 1981, also contains the John J. Pershing General of the Armies commemorative work. In January 2016, the design commission selected the submission "The Weight of Sacrifice", by a team consisting of Joseph Weishaar, Sabin Howard, Phoebe Lickwar, and GWWO Architects, as the winning design,[1] which is expected to be completed by 2024.[2]

Eisenhower Memorial Located to the south of the National Mall, the national memorial is set in a park-like plaza, with large columns framing a mesh tapestry depicting the site of the Normandy landings, and sculptures and bas-reliefs arrayed in the park. Architect Frank Gehry designed the memorial and Sergey Eylanbekov sculpted the bronze statues of Eisenhower in various settings. The memorial's tapestry artist was Tomas Osinski, and the inscription artist, Nicholas Waite Benson. On October 25, 1999, the United States Congress created the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial Commission, and charged it with creating "...an appropriate permanent memorial to Dwight D. Eisenhower...to perpetuate his memory and his contributions to the United States." The preliminary design proved controversial. After several years of hearings and several design changes by Gehry, final design approvals were given in 2017, when dignitaries held a groundbreaking ceremony at the four-acre site.

Had a couple of hours to sight see and unfortunately this tour company came highly recommended for a night tour by the concierge at my hotel. (Likely commissions involved.) The tour guide repeated himself several times to the point of embarrassment. He said nothing at all about many places passed. He stayed in the bus at each stop eating snacks and gave instructions on how soon to return to the poorly lit stops. The night was extremely cold and icy. Several of us fell on the sidewalk and there was one large family who decided to bring sick family members onto the bus coughing and sneezing for the evening. Two couples were drunk and talked loudly passing their cellphones during some of the guides remarks. All in all it was pretty miserable for the grand price tag of $100 for two. The most difficult part of all was the accent of the driver. I could not understand a word he said. His delivery was monotone, no jokes, no anecdotes or stories of interest. He was kind and courteous, just not a tour guide. To end the evening, he tried to drop everyone off at a combined stop instead of returning his customers to their respective hotels. A bad sign he was more eager to get home than host the tour. My advice: Find another tour company.

Did not stop at all the stops listed. Tour guide did not get out with us or explain well where we were to go at the Lincoln/Korean/WWII memorial. Just said to be back in 30 mins. With walk time, that is about 6 mins at each...if you know where you are going. Didn't stop at all at Iwo Jima or go by Arlington Cemetery.

This certainly was not a 'Grand Tour' hence the title is somewhat misleading. We arrived early for pick up however actual pick up was 20 minutes late so we were concerned something had gone wrong. The van was aged and not that clean inside ect. On a positive Ali our tour guide was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable around Washington, great detail. The last opportunity to stop ended at 1:30pm with the option of drop off to the pick up point or Capital. The tour effectively started at 10:50 and finished by say 2pm so not really half a day. For those visiting Washington is amazing we stayed on at the three memorials and walked through to capital, fantastic walk, loads of photo opportunities.
