A group of 8 of us decided to do this excursion to see a different part of the area. I did think that we would be going to an area that not just anybody could go to. But I misinterpreted "rental cars not allowed." Actually, we say many personal cars, as well as cruise line busses. But that was my misinterpretation. Also, we know wildlife is wild. There is no guarantee of sightings. It isn't a zoo. We were fortunate to see beavers, swans, and a few moose. My husband has a keen eye and spotted a few. I was lucky and spotted one on the way back. It was nice having the CB radios to let others know so we could stop. The scenery was really nice, and it was nice to be able to stop for pictures. We found our guide, Jeff to be very pleasant and accommodating. We understand it would have been pretty easy to drive this ourselves, but since we were in the area for a short time without a car - this was a nice option for us to be able to see the area. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the tour, and I am personally really glad we did it. I never thought we would go off roading, but those who didn't read the details of the tour mistakenly thought we would go on trails to lakes or whatever. However, once I pointed out to them that was never mentioned, they were fine with it. They would have liked to, but it is pretty obvious to me that Denali tries really hard to limit the human footprint across the land. So, I could see why this tour doesn't do that. I will recommend this tour to those who are in the area without a vehicle and want to see the area outside of the park.
