I hate to write negatively about this excursion, because all of the employees of the company were so very kind and competent, and I know that the excursions for the most part of the season would be worthwhile. However, we had been warned by two parties at our hotel, and didn't listen to them, so I am posting this so that others may be alert in the future. It was a very disappointing experience for us. Because we went late in the season (the end of August) and it was getting dark out early, the trip was unbelievably rushed. We were at the end of the caravan of five jeeps. From the very beginning, we heard, "We have to hurry; it will be getting dark soon!" over and over. By the time our jeep would arrive at a stop, we had hardly any time to relax and take pictures, The jeeps were, in our opinion, going way too fast for safety. We have had jeeps and have done off-roading for years so we were experienced with driving them. However, it was NOT comfortable bouncing along with the speeds we were doing on those gravel roads, which had a lot of washboard areas. We were worried about the other drivers and wondered how the company could put both their customers and their jeeps at risk. If you do want to take the Jeep Excursion, do an early morning tour, unless you go early in the season. So many more people could have enjoyed this tour, if it had been moved up earlier (even an hour would have helped) in the day. The Denali Highway IS beautiful, and the company planned a great route and had updated jeeps. The planned stops had bathroom breaks and even snacks. But the evening tour was not a leisurely sightseeing tour; it was a mad race. Even our driver said that he has been trying to get the "higher ups" to move the evening tour up to earlier in the day, and he suggested that we put this on Trip Advisor so that they may listen to the reviews.
