We drove north all through the Yukon up to Emerald Lake. The audio guided tour was very helpful. Plenty of sights and beautiful photo ops throughout. Only knock would be the traffic at the border when entering Canada. Other then that I highly recommend this tour.

Our cruise stopped in Skagway and we decided to rent a car for the day and drive up to the Canadian border. We were traveling with an elderly family member that would need a scooter for longer walks.... and WE could go at our pace, having an option to take a part a scooter and store it in the back, stopping for snacks restroom breaks or souvenir shopping ( and a place to hold all the souvenirs) was a good choice for use. Also having the ability to drive to the cruise port to pick up and drop everyone off was handy. Skagway is not a big town and the walk from the cruise ship to the car pick up was all of 15 minutes. Staff there was friendly, the cars were clean (we chose to get packed lunches- and they were generously packed with chips and snacks as well.) The check in and return was easy.. just top off the gas ( and the gas is right across the street.) Overall, this was the better option for us to see the sights than the whitepass train ride (which was only running half way up due to track repair work and judging from some pictures I saw quite crowded). We were give a more typical mid-size SUV than the jeep wrangler pictured. Were also given an alternate route due to the covid restrictions in place at the Canadian border.

We are so happy we chose to do this for our day in Skagway. They are wonderful to work with! She explained everything so well and answered questions.They did not have jeeps at the moment but we had a brand new toyota forerunner. We were given a binder with a guide as well as an audio thumbdrive to listen to. Super easy to follow along and took a bonus side trip to Dyea where we took a short hike. With Covid we were not able to go all the way into Canada, but still PLENTY to see along the way! We were stopping constantly for photos. We finished everything we wanted to do by 3, so still had plenty of time to walk around the town. We had the slunch they provided early and then stopped for a later lunch at Chilkoot Trail Outpost which I also highly recommend. If you want to see Skagway at your own pace- this is the way to go! Great people to work with and business was easy to find! No other way to see Skagway !
