Ken, our guide was outstanding, personable, knowledgeable, articulate, interesting, engaging. He made it a most delightful and enjoyable process. His knowledge of the places we took in, history, architecture, specific individuals, associated with the culture, and past making Santa Barbara the charming community that it is, and that which draws tourists to come and play.

The tour was amazing. Our tour guy Ken gave us a great lesson on the history of Santa Barbara as well and as the details of the food tasting. The tasting was planned very well and the food combination was great. I enjoyed every restaurant and it was difficult at the end to pick the best. Also, the wine tasting was great. Overall, this was an experience I will never forget. You have to try it!

The Santa Barbara Food Tour is a fabulous treasure and I recommend anyone traveling to Santa Barbara to make a reservation. My traveling companion and I had not spent any considerable time in Santa Barbara and did not want to aimlessly wander around wondering what to do. We were so happy with our tour and want to bring our families and friends back to share this amazing experience. Our guides Nancy and Ken were awesome. They were both very energetic and excited to share their city with us. We were lucky to be the only two guests touring that day so it was more like a great afternoon out with friends that just happened to know everything about Santa Barbara. We started our tour with a fabulous wine tasting at Grassini Family Wines. It is a quaint, boutique winery that reminded us of our local wine country in Lodi California and of course the wine was so delicious we had to purchase some. The tour continued with great detail in sharing the history of the town and the evolution of the architecture. As California natives this was quite interesting. We continued our tour and food tasting with a stop at Taqueria Santa Barbara where we enjoyed authentic foods inspired from traditional taquerias in Mexico City. A trip to the Santa Barbara Public Market was next with a delicious pot sticker tasting. Reminiscent of the Ferry Building in San Francisco the market offers a wide range of foods and delicacies to satisfy even the pickiest customer. Our tour continued with a lovely visit to Santa Barbara’s Court House where we happened upon two weddings taking place in Ken’s favorite wedding venue. Next stop was a stop at The Chase Restaurant and Bar and where we enjoyed a very generous plate of authentic Italian food. We ended our tour at Lokum with a Turkish delight and tea tasting. The Santa Barbara Food Tour is a great way to learn about Santa Barbara while enjoying the culinary aspects and historical features of the city. Our tour guides Nancy and Ken were very easy to hang out with for the afternoon and we highly recommend anyone new to Santa Barbara to take this tour.
