We are food tour enthusiasts. They are a good way to sample the local cuisine and learn about the culture and/or history of the area. Coordination with Evan, the owner, was excellent. She reached out in advance to ask if any in our group had food allergies or dislikes. In addition to four restaurants (Mexican, Filipino, Italian, and ice cream), we had a charcuterie plate at a winery tasting room. As we had already identified one of the two wine tasting rooms they usually go to as one we wanted to visit while in town, Evan made sure that was the one included on our specific tour. In addition to our party of four, there was another couple, so the group was small. So much food! We liked all that we sampled. Service was fast since our guide gave our ETA to each restaurant while en route. She was very good about keeping us on schedule, knowing that we had scheduled a wine tasting at 3:45 pm. The tour usually runs for 3 to 4 hours, starting at noon. We stopped at several places in addition to the restaurants to hear a little about the history of the building or of Santa Barbara. We would have liked more of that, but I'm guessing there wasn't time. Perhaps they could tell us a little more while we were just sitting and eating to ? Those who walk fast enough to keep up with the guide can chit chat along the way and learn more that way. However, my wife is a slow walker, so we were usually at the back of the group (we were assured we didn't miss anything important though).
