Discover Lake Tahoe’s rugged eastern shore, visit magnificent overlooks and beaches, and learn about the area’s connection to the Pony Express and lumber industry.

This 27-mile tour begins outside Sierra Sotheby’s International and continues along the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe from Incline Village to South Lake Tahoe. As you drive, you’ll hear stories about the area’s past. You’ll also learn about:

• Incline Villages’ Millionaire’s Row
• The Ponderosa Theme Park
• The history behind Thunderbird Lodge
• Lake Tahoe’s second growth forest
• Cave Rock and its connection to early Native American History
• Early Mail Delivery and the Pony Express

This driving tour can be completed in about 90 minutes without any stops. Along the way, you’ll have the option of visiting a few of Lake Tahoe’s out-of-the-way beaches and two Nevada State Parks, hiking to the base of Cave Rock, or enjoying a beverage or meal lakeside. Parking fees are not included in the price of this tour.

This driving tour is one of a 3 part series we took around the lake. It was a wonderful experience. My husband and I have been coming to Lake Tahoe for many years but had really never spent much time on the Nevada side of the lake and were really surprised at all the incredible vistas and energetic hikes it offered. The tour was very informative. We particularly enjoyed learning about the history of the area. All in all it was money and time very well spent. Highly recommend the tour for anyone interested in getting to know the area a bit better. One other note, the tour offers a free downloadable hiking trail guide of all the hikes found on all three tours. It was very useful; highlighting some real undiscovered gems.

The houses. Was pretty upset the audio did not always work. And when we tried to start at a different point it still started from the beginning. Very frustrating.

We're sorry you had trouble using the tour. There is a resume option that allows you to start the tour from the closest location – but if the closest location is the first location, then the tour will start at the beginning. We'd really appreciate additional feedback because VoiceMap app has an average rating of 4.8/5 stars on the App Store, from over 1,000 ratings, and it's likely that it worked as intended, but not as you expected.
