It turns out that 5-year-olds are fickle types. And it turns out hiking around Zion National Park in 99-degree weather isn't our 5-year-old's jam (the 9-year-old was struggling a bit, too, if we're being honest). Thank goodness for East Zion Adventures' Crimson Canyon Hike and UTV Adventure. It's been more than a week and the kids are still talking about the off-road jeep ride (my wife and I found it fun as hell, too), and getting to explore two remote slot canyons that you have all to yourself is was fantastic (and in the shade!) . Danny was a terrific guide, mixing maniacal driving skills and a helpful hand for us as we clambered through the two slot canyons. The meet-up is an easy drive about 30-45 minutes east of the park in Orderville. Hiking the national parks (we did Zion, Bryce and the North Rim) can be hit or miss, depending on weather and crowds and a variety of factors. This one's a guaranteed hit for the whole family. Thanks again for a great morning and a great memory.
