We had travelled all night to Florida from the west coast. Despite being exhausted, we changed our clothes and headed out on this full day safari. Although tired and dozing occasionally, we found the safari to be informative and saw an amazing amount of wildlife. I cant remember what our guide’s name was, however she was funny, attentive, and so knowledgeable. We first went on a airboat trip and saw an abundance of animals including many alligators. Then we stopped at a boardwalk and were told about some of the flora and fauna in the area. (To me this was kind of slow). We stopped at a wildlife viewing area where we saw a ton of alligators lounging on the side of a river. We had a wonderful lunch with several options. Then we had a boat tour of the area of 10,000 islands. We saw dolphins jumping in the wake of our boat, tons of flamingos on an island and heard much about the history of the area. The whole day was so enjoyable, but be warned there is a lot of driving. Our tour guide stopped frequently along the way to show us a variety of birds and alligators right along the road in the nearby river. For us it was perfect because we dozed during the driving time. She was very knowledgeable and encouraged questions. We had a small group of 9 people and found it was great. At the end of the night she took us to our hotel despite the fact that it wasn’t on the list. We tipped her very well as we thought her services were wonderful. Would highly recommend this for individuals being able to tolerate a long day of driving.

Great trip. We enjoyed the entire trip. Special thanks to boat ride in 10,000 island and dolphins viewing. We saw dolphins in wild within few inches from our boat. Air boat ride was also exceptional. Get to see Everglades and mature very closely.

My wife & I went on this tour in 2007 & re-visited this October with family. We stayed at Englewood 90 minutes away from the pick up point. So our day started at 5am [are we not on holiday said the 16 year old?]. Picked up in Fort Myers on time 7.35am [managed to get a quick breakfast before leaving]. In 2007 the days programme was airboat, drive, speed boat & Cypress walk. This time airboat, Cypress walk, speed boat & drive. Wife & I preferred the 2007 programme. The drive seemed very long at the end of the day. When it is in the middle you still have the speed boat into the mangrove's to look forward to. Our tour guide, Doug was very experienced & knowledgeable not just covering the Everglades but Florida in general. On the airboat we saw many different types of wildlife including alligator's, ospreys, bald eagle, heron's etc. The airboat guide knew where he could find alligator's out of the water sunbathing. Cypress walk [no mosquitoes] interesting for trees, fauna etc. We did find a female alligator hiding within. Lunch ordered on the way to Everglades City. Ready for us on arrival, everyone enjoyed. Speedboat into mangroves off Everglades City, interesting. Guide was different, knew how to 'scare' his passengers. Also knew where to find dolphins & how to attract them. Drive through the Everglades National Park is interesting & you do see plenty of alligators, birds, mammals etc. We returned to the pick up point at 6pm.
