To be honest I found this place by chance, I actually went to see Wynwood walls nearby but when I popped it into Google maps this gem popped up nearby (like a 5/10 min walk) and on the downside it made me want to rush the art just so I could get to the range and check it out!
So I walked over, initially just to see what packages they had and to really see what made it the top thing on Trip advisor. But then I understood! I walked in and I was greeted by a friendly gentleman who told me to go to the counter and I could talk to Vanessa to get the low down. She was super helpful and explained things quite clearly, she said all the guns were on the wall so you could actually check out what they look like. There’s also a wall of all the celebs that have been there, it was a couple months ago but think I saw Kevin Hart and Neymar on the wall 😊 Being from the UK we don’t see guns much and this was vastly different to the stag do I went to 10 years prior which shall we say seemed less professional in Slovakia.
I made my choice and went for the 007 package but added the 0.50 Barrett (my only experience of these guns had been on COD a long time ago) and came back the next day (you don’t really have to pre-book, they take walk-ins) with one of my friends to pull the trigger so to say. Came in and Vanessa was there, again super helpful, we did all the necessary payments etc and then what seemed like 10 mins later a gentlemen called Kevin called our name out to go into their briefing room where he gives you a safety brief, some googles and cool noise cancellers. Now if you go there and you’re a complete novice like me then ask for Kevin, he was awesome. He made everything seem so relaxed and explained everything really well, he wasn’t like “here’s the gun, aim there” he told you about each gun, how many rounds it could fire, where it’s from etc. He was really clued up and fun. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.
The 007 package gets you: HK G36, HK UMP, HK MP5 & Glock 18 submachine gun
As I said I’m a complete novice so wasn’t sure what to look out for but yes they were a lot of fun. But by far the one I wanted to shoot was the 0.50 Barrett, IT IS MASSIVE….HUGE. Kevin pulled out this coin and attached it to the paper target to aim for. I only had 2 bullets so the pressure not to miss and face mass humiliation by my group back at the hotel was high. I think I took over a minute to pull the trigger on the first one but I hit the bullseye 😊
Anyway, the short story was it was brilliant fun. Key takeaways are:
1. If you go to Miami then you should definitely try this!
2. Try get Kevin to be your instructor
3. $ wise yes it is a little on the pricey side – especially the 0.50 but you get what you pay for (I mean you’re literally firing mini-missiles), more than the guns the service as well. I personally thought it was worth it and wouldn’t hesitate going back again when I’m next over.
Hope this helps!
