Got the boat in early afternoon and enjoyed a full evening of kayaking. This was cheaper than a 2 hour rental at most other shops we saw. He got showed us on the map where the best places to explore were. We started at high tide so we went into the mangroves along Tavernier Creek and saw ample waterfowl and crabs. It let out into a large lake which was neat to explore. When the tide started receding we paddled to a very tiny island called Kalteux Key that only has a shore in low tide and parked the kayak. The spot of land was covered in mangroves and hermit crabs of all sizes. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the vacation was sitting in the shallow water on our little private island watching the boats go by.
