The driver was very knowledgable but spent more time bragging about himself and flirting with a passenger who was 30 years younger than he was them giving us information about the island. The ride was wild and way too fast to be considered safe. He would speed and take corners way too fast and laugh the whole time he did it. He made comments about his fellow driver that she was the slowest on the mountain. He was showing off for young girl. Tour guide cussed (including the F word) and made jokes that were sexual in nature. The food was good but my wife could not enjoy it as she was throwing up from car sickness from the recklessness of the driver. When asked who would take this tour again tomorrow, not one passenger said they would. I don’t believe any of us would endanger ourselves again. It was so bad that my wife was furious at me for tipping him.

Just completed this tour not even a week ago and my family and I can't stop raving about it! We started the tour off by getting picked up in our resort (which was a huge plus). We had K as our tour guide, he was hilarious, smart, knowlegable, and all around a great guy he kept us laughing the whole tour. The tour has many twists and turns that can be quite scary at times, I am glad we decided to book a tour instead of driving the road to Hana ourselves. K did many stops and told us about the history of Maui and its plants and culture. We got to swim in black sand beach, which was beautiful. We got to see some pretty big sea turtles which was a nice surprise. Lunch was also one of the best ever, instead of the usual sandwhich K took us to eat huli huli chicken (it was delicious!) he also hooked it up for my sister with some warm fresh made pizza since shes a vegetarian. All in all I give this tour 10 golden stars! Also, we now know how to pick a nice and sweet pineapple,although I am now hooked on the Maui gold! Mahalo!

Our tour was led by an experienced guide and a trainee who sat in the passenger seat. The man in training, Rodney, was really the feature of the tour. He is native Hawaiian, and being a bit of a character, he added a lot of fun to the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and humorous. The driver, on the other hand, was a bit of a bore. And I can't help but mention that the two of these characters together made for a lot of banter about "weed" and drinking and sexual innuendo which added nothing to the tour. The route itself is absolutely beautiful and is something not to be missed, whatever tour company you choose, but this one was definitely rated PG-13. Also, if your interested in cultural sites, particularly those brought to the island by missionaries or businessmen, you should definitely look elsewhere. This tour is definitely from an "occupied Hawaii" perspective.

We're very sorry you were not able to enjoy your tour because of the guide's narrative. The angle of view from those born and raised in Hawaii might be different from your angle who was born on the mainland and visiting Hawaii for just a few days. The guide didn't mean to offend you anyhow. Guests often appreciate the information but perhaps it was not a good fit for your party. Thank you for sharing your opinion. Aloha!
