Full-Day Mesa Verde Discovery Tour

It’s no question that locals and past visitors consider Mesa Verde National Park a must-visit. It allows us a rare opportunity to experience preserved North American history before European contact. Our Full Day Discovery Tour will show off this outdoor museum with plenty of insight into the ancient indigenous culture, the history of the Park, and more. It’s the best way to get the most out of a day at Mesa Verde.

Our tour vehicles are comfortable, air conditioned, and come with speakers to help you hear your guide's interp throughout the drive.

*Please note that Cliff Palace tickets sell out quickly, we recommend booking at least two weeks in advance to ensure we have tickets.

  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • You must bring your own car seats for children who require them. CO Car Seat Law states that children up to 8 years old must be in an appropriate car seat.
  • Sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, and water are recommended.
  • Dress in layers. Summer is cool in the morning and hot by the afternoon. Bring a warm coat, hat, and gloves for fall, winter, and spring.
  • Part of the tour may include climbing 10 ft. ladders made of Tree Trunks. Not all travelers are required to participate in this part but this is required in order to exit Cliff Palace

Our tour was professionally conducted, with great narrative and well-planned stops at all pertinent sites. The ranger-guided portion of the Cliff Palace dwellings was the highlight, of course. Simply mesmerizing. A bit challenging in some spots of climbing and squeezing, but well worth it.

My brother and I went on this trip. It was such a great experience! We had Jay as our guide, and he was a riot. I had been to Mesa Verde before, and this trip did not disappoint. My brother hadn't been before, and he really enjoyed the experience. I would recommend this tour and tour guide to everyone.

We booked the tour from Durango so we would not have to worry about finding our way to and around the park. At first, there was a schedule problem, but they quickly resolved the issue and we were the only two people on the tour. Our guide was Marty. He was very responsive to our particular interests and catered the tour to accommodate us.After stopping to pick up coffee and breakfast for the road, we got off on the one hour drive to the park. Marty was great about telling us all about the area, answering our questions about the local wildlife and sharing his experiences with us. At the park, he took us to all the sights, make sure we were properly hydrated, gave us tips on how to work through the cliff tour and answered all our questions. He really went the extra mile to make sure we had a great day. If you want to be pampered for the day, take this tour. Ask for Marty!
